Who’s the American?

Who’s the American working at World of Thai Silk?

     Richard, is the first American to be awarded permanent residence in Chaiyaphum province in northeastern Thailand, 375 km north of Bangkok, where much of our silk comes from as well as our silk blouses.

     He's a strategic communications consultant and world-class webmaster who was formely Southeast Asia correspondent for United Press International and a staff editor and special services consultant for the United Nations for many years.

     He speaks fluent Thai and has been involved in improving the situation of rural Thai women for most of the nearly four decades he has been living in Thailand and Southeast Asia. He is one of the few men involved in World of Thai Silk.

     Richard helps bridge the cultural and communication gap between customers and the skilled silk textile artisans of Thailand.
