         Sure! We've discounted our prices so the more you buy the greater the discount you receive but even minimum quantity orders get our new discounted prices!

    Orders comprised of a sustantial number of total yards may also qualify you for various Reseller, Dealer, B2B, Preferred Customer, Repeat Customer and/or Wholesale privileges, promotional incentives and additional discounts! to inquire! We've summarized the following information for persons interested in developing a strategic business relationship with World of Thai Silk.

    Our primary capability and product is hand-woven and machine-woven pure Thai silk fabric of any color, shade, hue, ply and weave. Although we supply many value-added products made from our pure Thai silk fabric and perform a number of other services for clients, they are secondary.

    Our silk comes in smooth as well as all types of textures, including ribbed (also know as twill) and dupioni (also known as rough, coarse, texturized & nubby). We offer 1-ply, 2-ply & 4-ply. Other plys can be woven to order.

    In September 2001, we reduced all our prices and launched a newer and simpler design for our site. We are now upgrading, revising, and expanding our site as well as adding a shopping cart facility. We expect this will be done by the third quarter of 2006.      We count total yardage, not just yardage per piece so many pieces of a few yards that add up to many yards are eligible for lower prices and higher discounts. We require a minimum order of four yards, even for Fabric Cuts, although your order can be comprised of eight HALF-yard pieces.

     A custom silk fabric woven-to-order costs no more than silk already in stock but requires a minimum order of 30-50 yards for hand-woven and we request machine-woven silk fabric orders be at least 50-100 yards, if possible. Setting up the loom is a LOT of work.

     We can do any color or shade. If you can supply a sample, we can match it closely -- usually with 80-100% accuracy.

     We weave more than 150 ikat mudmee patterns. Customized color schemes using these patterns have proven to be one of our most popular products. You can replace all or any of the component colors of any of the patterns found on the site such as those of this sample pattern.

     Most of the small images of silk swatches on our site are the actual size of the fabric swatch. Exceptions are the ikat mudmee pattern images and most of the value added products such as scarves, handbags, shawls, neckties and and table runners.

     If you look at a full screen image, that is often about 400% larger than the actual fabric except for photos of full mudmee patterns. The background of each page is usually the fabric being offered on that page enlarged about 500-1,000%. These three sizes of each fabric swatch and the color charts are intended to make it possible for you to make accurate decisions about the silk you want to buy without swatches.

    Delivery is usually by courier but air freight, sea freight and postal delivery are also options. Shipping costs are not included in our prices. For full details click here.

    We can treat your silk prior to shipment or before being made into garments or apparel. Treatment makes it softer, easier to iron, harder to wrinkle, and pre-shrunk.

    Treatment costs extra but all fabric in stock is already treated (at no additional charge). and we try to include the cost of treatment in the price we quote for custom orders so their are no extra charges. All new Thai silk shrinks 1-5% when it is washed if it has NOT been treated. Treatment pre-shrinks the silk 1-5% so you are likely to get few size-change surprises later. Of course, proper care, washing and handling is required or you can easily create a fabric disaster.

    We have a range of natural dyes.

     We have silk batik as well as many stripes and plaids not yet shown on the site. In sufficient quantity we can do prints for you.
